Power
300 amps is available from 1 x 63A three phase and 3 x 63A single phase. Floor distribution takes it down to 32A, 16A and 13A, in single and three phase.
16A hard power is available along the studio wall for sensitive equipment that requires ‘always on’ and its MCB / RCBOs are on separate circuits, for example animal and plant husbandry.
Additional 13A sockets extend along the walls for domestic supply to personal effects such as laptops.
Lighting control
The studio runs on the NX1 lighting console by Obsidian.
The building has CRMX Lumenradio, Multiverse Wireless and 8 DMX Universes available over Art-Net or sACN with RDM. The studio is also equipped with LightKey App for wireless control of all lighting and we also support Sidus Pro and Blackout App.
Software
In-house the Studio has a suite of Apps commissioned especially to make your shoot more efficient. These apps revolve around time lapse shooting and subsequent image processing. All Apps run natively on Apple Silicone and are used routinely on major productions by BBC, Netflix, Disney and Apple.
These Apps are not available to download and are unique to working in the Studio and with Robert Hollingworth.
Time Bandit
Automated processing of time lapse files creating organsied file / folder structure, renaming and movie creation into ProRes, Avid, h264, h265 in HD, 4k, 8K or higher, all in one app and in seconds
Image Bandit
Time saving EXIF processing aimed at scanned photos, to give them GPS co-ordinates, automated titles based on geography with look-up through Apple Maps, and correct EXIF and Finder metadata to enable Apple Photos and other Apps to see and organise them as if they were digital, enabling Memories to work as intended from old prints or scans from negatives or slides
Serenity Stack Sorter
Automated processing of focus stacked image sequences or time lapses. The app will take a focus stacked set of files from a DSLR and organise them into frames and slices, performs renaming and re-organising. There is a file browser to see the time lapse in time and depth, and export ability to movies or Mini-Stacks
Time Ghost
Fully-fledged software and hardware combination to run time lapses in the studio, eg plant growth. The App can run numerous cameras with synced A and B camera, manages grow or bash lighting and has interval and focus ramping built in. Watched live in the timeline. Each hardware unit as 4 axes of stepper motion control
Taking the studio on location
Most equipment in the studio resides in wheeled flight cases.
From cable to distro, and production equipment to camera carts, they can all be wheeled onto a van relocating the efficiency of the studio to exterior locations or larger studios.
